Introducing: The Rental Price Index
Last month we introduced the 'for sale' Property Price Index, and this month we're introducing the same thing for rental properties – super handy if you're a renter yourself, or own a rental property.
The median weekly rent for a property in New Zealand has risen more than 6 per cent in the past year, according to our new Rental Price Index that popped up for the first time on 11 November. The median weekly rent was $399, up from $375 in October 2013.
The new Index measures trends in rental prices for all properties rented through Trade Me Property by private landlords and property managers in October. There's heaps of interesting stuff in there, check it out!
